To investigate the current anxiety levels of college students in the post-pandemic period and the impact of physical activity on this anxiety, this research examines the mediating role of social support and proactive personality on student anxiety, focusing on the perspective of physical exercise. To begin, anxiety symptoms and anxious feelings are explained. Simultaneously, a questionnaire survey is performed at a well-regarded university in a particular city, and distinct scales are constructed for assessing physical exercise, anxiety, social support, and proactive personality aspects of college students. To conclude, the survey results are subjected to a rigorous statistical analysis, investigating the anxiety-relieving properties of physical exercise. There's a pronounced difference in physical activity levels, with male students showing a greater amount of physical exercise than female students, according to the data. Emotional awareness, a crucial cognitive skill, is fundamental to emotional intelligence and profoundly impacts the social adjustment of individuals. Although the impact of emotional awareness on children's social skills, particularly in their emotional growth, is not fully understood, this study sought to uncover the essential influence of emotional awareness on children's emotional maturation. This study, combining cross-sectional and longitudinal study designs, aimed to understand the relationship between emotional awareness and children's depressive tendencies, as well as the mediating effect of emotion regulation on this connection. Of the 166 elementary school students from China, 89 were girls and 77 were boys, with ages spanning from 8 to 12 years old in this study's sample. The research, after controlling for demographic variables (such as gender and grade), illustrated that children with high emotional awareness had a lower likelihood of adopting expressive suppression as a coping method for their emotions, which was correlated with lower current and future depression levels. Compared to children demonstrating a robust emotional awareness, children with a lesser capacity for emotional awareness were observed to use suppression strategies more often and manifested higher levels of depression. Consequently, the findings suggest that emotional awareness can forecast children's current and future depressive states. Identifying with the collective human experience (IWAH), characterized by a sense of connection and concern for people globally, reliably predicts awareness of and concern for global issues, a commitment to upholding human rights, and participation in activities benefiting society. However, the genesis of such a broad social identity, and the extent to which formative experiences are implicated, is still unknown. Two research projects probed the connection between diverse intergroup encounters in childhood and adolescence and their predictive value for IWAH in adulthood. Our focus encompassed experiences of being raised in a diverse environment, fostering intergroup friendships, receiving or offering assistance to various individuals, and undergoing re- or de-categorization experiences, culminating in the development of a new Childhood/Adolescent Intergroup Experiences (CAIE) scale. Study 1 (N = 313 U.S. students, mean age 21) and Study 2 (N = 1000, a Polish representative sample, mean age 47) demonstrated that intergroup experiences during childhood and adolescence were determinants of IWAH, exceeding the impact of known variables such as empathy, openness to experience, universalism, right-wing authoritarianism, social dominance orientation, and ethnocentrism. The 2019 COVID-19 outbreak enforced a new reality of physical and social distancing, altering our lives, especially our self-perception, as well as our approaches to food and related behaviors. Studies consistently demonstrate a risky situation involving negative self-image, disordered eating practices, and eating disorders, impacting both clinical and general populations. Concerning this premise, this literature review proposes two key concepts—perceptual disruptions and disordered eating patterns—within both the general and (sub-)clinical populations, to clarify the understanding of these phenomena during the COVID-19 pandemic. The primary focus of this article is a thorough and critical examination of published scientific literature concerning perceptual disturbances (e.g., negative self-perception of body image, body image disturbances, and low self-esteem) and dysfunctional eating behaviours, including disordered eating (e.g., restrictive dieting, binge-eating episodes, overeating, and emotional eating), and eating disorder features in community (general) and clinical and subclinical populations worldwide throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In a detailed search, the various databases PubMed, ScienceDirect, Ebsco, and Google Scholar were investigated. A first search uncovered a total of 42 references. Scientific publications spanning the period from March 2020 to April 2022 were considered, and of the aggregated works, only published research articles were ultimately selected. Exclusions also encompassed purely theoretical papers. Twenty-one studies, covering both community, clinical (e.g., with eating disorders), and subclinical populations, formed the final selection. The analysis of the results' details incorporates the potential consequences of modifying self-perception and social interactions (e.g., the increased use of videoconferencing and overuse of social networking sites due to isolation), together with changes in dietary patterns, physical activity levels, and exercise habits (such as emotional responses to pandemic-related anxieties), in both community and (sub-)clinical groups. To analyze data on work satisfaction and team effectiveness in 34 organizational teams, just prior to and directly after the COVID-19 outbreak, we utilized a cross-lagged design and the two-condition MEMORE mediation procedure. The COVID-19 outbreak, according to our research, had no substantial impact on how empowering leadership or leadership support was perceived.
